SJSU's Best Class

Although most of the eight classes I've taken so fair were fairly enjoyable for the most part, the first class that comes to mind as the "best" would have to be my Mass Communications 105 class. The class was about diversity in the media and was taught by professor Bob Rucker. What was interesting about his class compared to my other classes is that he really stressed on class participation, which at first I was taken away from and had a more pessimistic view of the class. I normally I'm pretty reserved as an individual and usually keep to myself, though he taught me to become more outspoken to say the least. I also enjoyed the guest speakers he had throughout the course.  Most of which where past Alumni students and news casters in the field of journalism. NPR Interview analysis

     I've chose to listen to the NPR podcast by Fresh Air on Trump's trust on the civilian national security establishment.      The interview opened up with hostess Terry Gross stating the fact that Trump only has been in office for a month, having a good basis on the subject but brought in a guest who she thought was more knowledgable on the topic, Mark Mazzetti.      Gross stated Mazzetti's credentials in which he recently became the Washington investigations editor for The New York Times, after being a national security correspondent there for 10 years, and adding other honerable mentions.      Some of the questions Gross asked were around Trumps administration, his ties to Russia, the CIA, U.S. military, and overall questioning his role as our president.      As for the build up of questions Gross asked in order of importance.  Starting out investigation on leakers, cyberattacks, and p...

Japanese internment sculpture story

Looming under the cloudy afternoon sky lies a bronze statue setting a similar tone in its engraved illustrations. Etched throughout the piece are countless individuals, guarded and watched by numerous soldiers with rifles at hand. Many are seen jaded and worn out, assisting each other in forced laborious tasks across the sculpture. There is a strong juxtaposition of this art piece where in this country known for it's for freedom, had people subjugated based on their ethnic background during the Japanese internment of World War II. The artist of this piece Ruth Asawa, has immortalized this event engraved in bronze in downtown San Jose illustrating the turmoil of the Japanese internment. The piece is spread on two sides, but with both topped with large barbwire emphasizing the Japanese' confinement.
